WHAT TO EXPEXCT

Grand Teton is one of the most beautiful national parks in the U.S. Located just south of Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton offers a wide variety of photo opportunities. During this photography workshop, we'll split our time focusing on a mix of landscape and wildlife photography. 

In addition to the classic sights of Grand Teton we'll search for a variety of animals including moose, elk, bears, prong horn, bison, coyotes, deer and more.

If you'd like to get the most out your photography trip you can pair this workshop with the Yellowstone workshop that is scheduled directly before the Grand Teton workshop. (September 20th - 23rd)

LODGING

The Grand Teton Workshop will base out of The Flat Creek Inn in Jackson Hole. Participants are welcome to use other lodging or camping accommodations but the Flat Creek Inn will be our centralized meeting point.

ITINERARY

Day 1: 7:30pm Orientation

Days 2 through 5: Sunrise shoot, game drive, midday break, evening game drive / sunset shoot

Day 6: Sunrise Shoot, workshop conclusion

WEATHER

The weather in Grand Teton is very unpredictable in September. It could be warm and sunny or snowing. It's a good idea to be prepared for any kind of weather including sun, rain and snow. Typically the morning are cold with average daytime highs reaching into the mid 50's to low 70's. Fall is one of the best time of year to visit Grand Teton.

CANCELATION POLICY

Sometimes life can get in the way of a good a thing. Hopefully that doesn’t happen during this workshop, but if it does the following cancelation policy applies.

• Cancel more than 120 days before the workshop start: Full refund minus $200 cancellation fee.

• Cancel 0 - 120 days before trip – no refund unless your spot is filled or the workshop gets canceled.

Should you have to cancel after the cancelation deadline and I can find a replacement for your space at full price, I’ll refund your full payment minus a $200 cancelation fee.

“Cancel for any reason” travel insurance is strongly encouraged.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• What is the closest airport to Grand Teton National Park?  The Jackson airport (JAC) is actually located within Grand Teton National Park. It's a short 13 minute drive from the airport to Jackson WY.

• What time will we finish shooting on the last morning of the workshop?  We'll wrap up shooting shortly after sunrise.Most likely between 9am and 10am.

• Do I need a large prime lens for shooting wildlife? A prime lens is not required for this workshop. In fact, most participants bring zoom lenses. You're more than welcome to bring a prime lens if you'd like to squeeze out every last bit of light.

• What are the food options like in Jackson WY?  Pretty darn good! Jackson is lined with great restaurants. There's no shortage of food options on this trip!

• Do I need a tripod for this workshop? You'll get the most out the trip if you bring a tripod. We'll be shooting some landscapes in low light and a tripod will help you get the best shots.
