The bison is one of the hardiest animals in North America. Weighing as much as 2,400 they survive solely off of grass. In the cold mornings of winter frost forms on their thick coats when temperatures drop well below freezing. This bull wore white highlights made of frost as he navigated the winter terrain of Yellowstone.
