Calla Lily

Black and White Fine Art Print | Limited Edition of 100 The petal of a Cala Lily flower spirals around itself as it begins to open up tp the world. These attractive white flowers represented beauty to the ancient greeks and fertility to the Egyptians. The Romans gave the flower an even more exotic meaning. To them it represented sexuality. Perhaps these interpretations are why the flower is so commonly used during wedding ceremonies. Cala Lilies are endemic to Southern Affrica but have been introduced to the United States and can now be found growing along the California and Oregon coast line. This particular flower was growing in the Big Sur region. Natural lighting conditions allowed the flower to be isolated from the background creating a modern minimalistic photograph. © Mike Wardynski Photography
