About three hours west of Santa Fe New Mexico lies Chaco Culture National Historic Park. The park is located in north west NM in a dry and barren landscape. The harsh climate makes makes the site a rather unlikely location for a major civilization and trade center, but that is exactly what it was. Beginning in 800 A.D. Chaco Canyon was a thriving civilization for 300 years before its inhabitants began to migrate to to other parts of the Southwest becoming the Pueblo People of New Mexico and the Hopi of Arizona. On March 11, 1907 President Teddy Rosevelt created the Chaco Canyon National Monument through the antiquities act. Walking the grounds of Chaco Canyon is like stepping into the past. While many of the structures are no longer standing, one can get a sense of scale and history that happened there.

Chaco Canyon is surrounded by wide open range. The range is used by local ranchers who graze livestock on the land but it is also home to wild horses. These majestic animals are equally as incredible to see as the park itself. The horses tend to travel in small groups rather than large herds. This is mainly due to a lack food and water in the harsh desert climate. In the spring time and early summer mares can be seen with their newborn foals. Modern Series | High gloss metal prints in external float frame

Metal prints have quickly become one of the most popular substrates for landscape photography. These prints are created through a process called dye sublimation in which dyes are infused directly into a specially coasted metal sheet. This technique produces a print that has higher brightness than paper resulting in enhanced saturation and smooth tones. Metal prints are surprisingly light and very easy to care for. They do not need to be protected by glass and come ready to hang in an external float frame that gives the print a modern look as it floats within a thin frame.
